Booking.com experiences | Hotel rating | The Continental Hounslow

Before our road trip we were moving out of our apartment and decided to stay in a nearby 'cheap' hotel for the last night before the final moving day. Used booking.com  for booking the room for two of us, my partner's son and his dog.

The booking.com gave price £68 which we were willing to pay of a hotel in Hounslow area so my partner pre-paid the hotel and made the reservation so that there would be 2 adults, a child and a dog. The hotel was called The Continental Hotel.

When arriving, we found out that once again that the 'product' we purchased via booking.com wasn't what we had purchased: there wasn't found our dog nor a son in the reservation. The total cost for our hotel night was after all around £125. So we had two options: either loose £68 or pay ~£60 more. With that amount you would have booked a hotel from nicer area or a super nice Airbnb apartment in Richmond for example.

Anyhow, the customer service in the hotel was excellent, all the staff members did their job as like in the 5 star hotel. And the room was surprisingly nice and clean. It's unfortunate that booking.com is a service for the accommodation businesses but they can ruin the whole experience of the hotel stays by misleading the consumers.

What is for sure, it will take some time before using booking.com again.
